Privacy policy

What this policy covers

Focus+ helps people aged 16 and older discover, organize and join nearby fitness meetups. Members aged 16–17 and members aged 18 or older use separate communities and cannot discover, invite, message or meet one another through Focus+. This policy explains what information the app uses, why it is used, and the choices available to members. Focus+ does not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising.

Information used to provide the service

• Account and contact information: account identifiers, name, email from Apple or Google sign-in, connected sign-in providers, and a phone number used for Firebase phone verification.
• Eligibility and trust state: the age community (16–17 or 18+), whether it came from Apple's declared age-range feature or a self-declaration, guardian-awareness confirmation for 16–17 members, timestamp and policy version; phone-verification state; server-controlled attendance, restriction, suspension, ban and appeal state. Focus+ does not request or store a date of birth or identity document.
• Location: device location when permission is granted, an approximate area for public discovery, and an exact meetup point chosen by a host. Exact meetup coordinates are not placed in the public activity feed and are released only through the protected participant workflow.
• Member content: profile information, activities, participation, messages, friends, circles, safety check-ins, reports, appeals and limited evidence references.
• Device and service data: push-notification tokens, app-generated device identifiers, app/build version, App Check attestations, crash reports and limited diagnostic context.
• Purchases: subscription product and entitlement information supplied through Apple. Focus+ does not receive full payment-card details.

Why information is used

Information is used to authenticate accounts, deliver the app, show relevant nearby meetups, protect private meetup details, operate chat and notifications, prevent abuse, enforce community rules, answer support requests, process appeals, restore purchases, diagnose failures, and meet lawful obligations.

Service providers and disclosures

Focus+ uses Apple services including Sign in with Apple, CloudKit, StoreKit, App Attest and push notifications; Google Firebase services including Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, App Check and Crashlytics; Google Sign-In, and Google Maps SDK for Android. Android uses Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging and App Check with Play Integrity. Google Maps processes device and service information to provide maps; location is used when permission is granted. Android does not currently offer paid subscriptions. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. Information may also be preserved or disclosed where reasonably necessary for urgent safety response, valid legal process, fraud prevention or protection of rights.

Retention

Account and community data is kept while an account is active and then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed, subject to backups, fraud prevention, unresolved reports, appeals, safety preservation holds and legal requirements. Report evidence is limited to references needed for review and access is restricted. Preservation periods are reviewed rather than guaranteed as a single fixed period across all jurisdictions.

Your choices and rights

Members can control location and notification permission in iOS or Android, block other members, submit reports and appeals, and permanently delete their account from Profile → Privacy & Safety. Depending on local law, a person may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection. Identity may need to be verified before a privacy request is completed.

Account deletion from outside the app

You can request account and associated data deletion without reinstalling Focus+ through our account deletion page. We may verify account ownership. Safety, fraud, appeal and legal retention exceptions are described above.

Age-separated communities

Focus+ is intended for people aged 16 and older. Ages 16–17 and ages 18+ are kept in separate communities. People under 16 cannot create a community account. Apple may provide only an age range when the person or family chooses to share it; otherwise the person may self-declare a range. The eligibility result is a community-access control, not an identity check or safety guarantee. Suspected false age information or under-16 use can be reported in the app.

International processing

Service providers may process information outside the user’s country. Focus+ applies access controls and uses provider safeguards appropriate to the service and applicable law. The app is being prepared for the EU/EEA, United States, Japan and Taiwan.
